Are your automated sales emails constantly going unanswered? What about your cold emails to influencers about pitching an article?
If you’re having this problem, you’re definitely not alone.
The problem is that people get TONS of emails every day.
I don’t know about you, but I would never have time to respond to ever single email that comes into my inbox.
Because people don’t have enough time to respond to every email they get, they are constantly scanning their emails to find reasons why they don’t have to reply.
Anything that makes someone think, “this isn’t worth my time,” is going to immediately send your email to the ignore pile. And it doesn’t take much these days for people (especially if they’re busy) to ignore an email.
So, what are these things that immediately disqualify your emails from getting a response?
Most of the time, it’s just including unnecessary information, or not being concise enough in how you write the content of your emails. So when in doubt, keep it short and sweet — and leave out anything that isn’t essential.
Like I mentioned above, people are busy and very time-sensitive. If readers get an inkling that the content of your email is going to be too long or not provide them value, they will not hesitate to move on.
